R32 (Difluoromethane)

R32 is an alternative to R410a with similar performance and an impressive 68% reduced GWP. Combine the environmental credentials with an average 25% reduced charge size, it’s easy to see why R32 has become one of the most common refrigerants found in new air-conditioning units from leading global manufacturers. R32 refrigerant is compatible only in new systems designed for R32 (not retrofit)

It is used as a refrigerant in:

  • Domestic Refrigeration, Domestic Air Conditioning.

  • Industrial Refrigeration

  • Residential & Light Air Conditioning

Product Features and Benefits

  • Substitute for R410A in new equipment

  • Refrigerant can be charged from either the liquid or vapor phase

  • PVCK refrigerant cylinders have dual port valves, making liquid offtake easier

  • Mildly flammable, non-toxic with a safety classification of A2L

  • Compressors must be charged with polyester oils, contact the compressor manufacturer for more information

  • Low GWP of 675, just 32% of R410A

  • Smaller charge requirements mean exchangers and components can be smaller and more compact

  • Slightly better energy efficiency than R410A

  • Similar boiling temperature to R410A

  • Due to it flammable nature R32 requires different charging and recovery procedures

PVCK product cylinders are fitted with a Residual Pressure Device (RPD) to ensure used refrigerant or any other substance cannot be reintroduced into a cylinder

R32 cylinder are fitted with a left handed DIN 477-1 valve

Store cylinders in a cool, dry, well ventilated area, out of direct sunlight.

For optimal performance and compatibility, PVCK recommends the use of valve fittings that have plastic sealing washers (e.g. Nylon, PTFE or PCTFE) for refrigerant products. Hard or inflexible materials such as fiber washers may cause minor connection leaks. The sealing washer should be visually inspected for damage or wear before each use. Fittings should be installed slightly tighter than hand-tight.
